Vapor Product Safety Hinsilblon produces essential oil products for the neutralization of airborne odors. Concerns may arise from statements on the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) about the health effects of these products. The cautions listed on the MSDS arising from mists/aerosols of these products are for the neat (concentrated) product in the shipping or storage container. The vapor products are typically evaporated with warm air to be applied between a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 parts per million in the air where the odoriferous material exists. This application level is a significantly low concentration in the air, and is further diluted while dissipating in the surrounding atmosphere. At the application concentration, no adverse health effects are expected. It is important to know that the MSDS represents the neat product. When applied, the vapor has low health concerns. The products can only be applied through specialized and patented automation that contains a sealed reservoir for storage. This will limit the exposure to the neat product. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is recommended when transferring the product from the shipping container to the feed system reservoir. While the product is ultimately vaporized and blown into the air, it is at a significantly low concentration. Health effects for the individual ingredients are always listed on the MSDS. The vapor products are made up of a blend of essential oils derived from natural materials like orange peels, pine needles, cloves and flower petals. These essential oils possess properties that make them effective for neutralizing a wide range of odors. They are 100% concentrated products and much like household pine and orange cleaners, can generate vapors from the neat product. As with household cleaners, the concentration at the application level in the air has low health concerns.
